Hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, contingent on the availability of a driver.
Office hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Method/Rules for Scheduling a Ride
Call 989-725-9303 Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm to schedule a TSD ride.
- You should make arrangements for transportation as far ahead of the appointment date as possible.
- Priority will be given to callers on a “first-call, first-serve” basis.

Operating Area
SATA TSD Services are a variety of door-to-door/curb-to-curb demand response transportation services for when SATA Dial-A-Ride
service cannot accommodate a transportation request. TSD transportation services may be provided both within and outside of Shiawassee County.
TSD door-to-door/curb-to-curb services:
- Community Coordination Program: Referrals to and coordinated trips through religious organizations, volunteer programs, other transportation providers, and health and human service agency programs.
- Volunteer Driver / Escort Program: Volunteer drivers use their personal vehicles to provide door-to-door transportation services assigned by TSD. *Passenger must meet program eligibility requirements. Call TSD office for details.
- Accessible Taxi Program: Wheelchair accessible vehicle operated by a professional Shiawassee Area Transportation Agency driver to provide curb-to-curb services assigned by TSD. *Passenger must meet program eligibility requirements. Call TSD office for details.
Out-of-County TSD Zones:
- Zone 1: Clinton, Genesee, Gratiot, Ingham, Livingston, and Saginaw Counties
- Zone 2: Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties
- Zone 3 – 7: Remainder of Lower Michigan
- Transportation services are not available in Upper Peninsula

Fares
Standard Fare
Fares are calculated by riders’ place of residence and whether their local government unit is a SATA participant (Not origin or destination address).
In Shiawassee County:
$3.00 regular one-way fare for residents of participating areas:
- Corunna
- Durand
- Laingsburg
- Owosso
- Perry
- Bennington Twp
- Caledonia Twp
- Middlebury Twp
- New Haven Twp
- Owosso Twp
- Shiawassee Twp
- Venice Twp
- Vemon Twp
$9.00 regular one-way fare for residents of all other (non participating) cities/townships of Shiawassee County.
Out-of-County:
Zone 1 (Clinton, Genessee, Gratiot, Ingham, Livingston, and Saginaw Counties):
- Participating: $7.00 regular one-way fare
- Non-participating: $21.00 regular one-way fare
Zone 2 (Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties):
- Participating: $11.00 regular one-way fare
- Non-participating: $33.00 regular one-way fare
Zones 3 – 7 (remainder of lower Michigan):
Regular fares range from $13.00 to $75.00 one-way (Call the TSD office for details)
Reduced Fare
Fares are calculated by riders’ place of residence and whether their local government unit is a SATA participant (Not origin or destination address).

$1.50 reduced one-way fare for residents of participating areas:

- Bennington Twp

- Venice Twp
- Vemon Twp
$4.50 reduced one-way fare for residents of all other (non participating) cities/townships of Shiawassee County.
Out-of-County:
No reduced fare for out-of-county services. All passengers pay the standard rate for out-of-county trips.
Accessibility & Eligibility
Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility
This service does not have complementary paratransit because it is a curb-to-curb demand response service, not fixed route. All SATA vehicles are lift/ramp equipped for wheelchair or other mobility device users. The Accessible Taxi Program allow those who need ramp/lift equipped vehicles to use TSD when the SATA Dial-A-Ride service does not meet their transportation needs.
Persons with disabilities must submit the SATA Application for Reduced Fare. This application requires verification of a qualifying disability by a physician, healthcare or rehabilitation professional, or the submission of documentation that verifies a qualifying disability (letter from SSI, SSDI, Michigan DHS, or copy of Medicare card).
Age eligible individuals may show picture ID to receive reduced fare when riding.
Transit Service Accessibility
This is a curb-to-curb demand response service and all SATA vehicles are lift/ramp equipped for wheelchair or other mobility device users. This service is accessible for individuals with disabilities as well as open to the general public. The Accessible Taxi Program allow those who need ramp/lift equipped vehicles to use TSD when the SATA Dial-A-Ride service does not meet their transportation needs.
Additional Notes
Eligibility
The primary population targeted for TSD is persons with disabilities, seniors (60+), and veterans. For MDOT reporting purposes, 70% or more of ridership must be residents who qualify as a person with a disability, a senior (60+), and/or a veteran.
Persons with disabilities must complete and submit SATA’s Reduced Fare Application as proof of his/her disability.

Priority for trip purpose of all TSD services rendered follow the order as listed below:
- Medical
- Employment & Training
- All Other Trips
Fares
Fares for residents of the participating local governmental units include: Cities of Corunna, Durand, Laingsburg, Owosso, Perry & the Townships of Bennington, Caledonia, New Haven, Owosso, Shiawassee, Venice, and Vernon. Cities and Townships not listed are considered non-participating.
