DDOT Complementary Paratransit Service
Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT)Hours of Operation
DDOT’s MetroLift/complementary paratransit service is available when DDOT fixed route buses are in service:
- Same time of day (or day of the week), from the time the earliest routes begin service until the last routes end service.
Ride reservations can be made Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
Method/Rules for Scheduling a RideDDOT’s MetroLift service is available during the same hours of operation as the fixed-route bus.
To request a reservation, please call 313-208-7363. Reservations can be made Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Reservations for a trip can be made from 1 up to 14 days in advance. Trip reservations are accepted until 4:00 p.m. the day prior to a requested trip date.

Fares
Standard Fare
- Eligible Rider: $2.50
- Guests of Eligible Riders (maximum of 1 guest per one-way trip): $2.50
- PCAs (Personal Care Attendants): Free
Reduced Fare
Only those who are functionally unable to use the fixed route system may use DDOT complementary paratransit. Therefore, there is not a reduced fare rate for this service. All eligible riders are charged the standard fare rates.

Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility
MetroLift, DDOT’s complementary paratransit service is origin to destination service available for those who are functionally unable to use the DDOT fixed route system. Paratransit vehicles are lift/ramp equipped for wheelchair or other mobility aide users.
To determine eligibility for DDOT paratransit service, an applicant must fill out an
application for MetroLift Service along with a professional verification form. Applicants are required to have a condition preventing them from independently using public fixed route transportation verified by a professional licensed to make such determinations at the time of applying. People’s Express (PEX) Wayne: Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) is building a new and robust paratransit model, which will make the transportation program better for disabled customers who use the on-demand service. The plan brings key services impacting users in-house and includes new service providers. People’s Express is a key new service provider signing a 5-year contract beginning July 1st, 2023 with DDOT to provide 30% of paratransit services.
