People’s Express aims to address the transit needs of Washtenaw county residents, with special attention given to those who live in rural areas.

Standard Fare

1. Residents of Northfield Township: In-bounds destinations are within Northfield Township (outlined in blue on the interactive map).

One-way trip: $2.00

Destinations leaving the township limits will have a flat fare rate until leaving the boundary, where an additional fare will be applied per mile.

One-way trip: $2.00 flat fare + $2.50 per mile

2. Residents of Saline: In-bounds destinations for the residents of Saline are within the city limits (outlined in blue on the interactive map).

One-way trip: $4.00

Destinations leaving the city limits will have a flat fare rate until leaving the boundary, where an additional fare will be applied per mile.

One-way trip: $4.00 flat fare + $2.50 per mile

3. Specialized destinations: These destinations are specialized fares for the residents of Northfield Township who would like their destination to be in one of the following areas (outlined in red on the interactive map).

Kroger in Hamburg: $2.00
Brighton: $7.00
South Lyon: $7.00
Ann Arbor: $7.00
Ypsilanti: $7.00

Reduced Fare

Adults aged 55+: $1.00
People with disabilities: $1.00

Destinations leaving the township limits will have a flat fare rate until leaving the boundary, where an additional fare will be applied per mile.

Adults aged 55+: $1.00 flat fare + $2.50 per mile
People with disabilities: $1.00 flat fare + $2.50 per mile

2. Residents of Saline: In-bounds destinations for the residents of Saline are within the city limits (outlined in blue on the interactive map).

Adults aged 55+: $2.00
People with disabilities: $2.00

Destinations leaving the city limits will have a flat fare rate until leaving the boundary, where an additional fare will be applied per mile.

Adults aged 55+: $2.00 flat fare + $1.25 per mile
People with disabilities: $2.00 flat fare + $1.25 per mile

Reduced fare not offered for specialized destinations. All riders pay regular fare for these trips. (See number 3 under Regular Fare)

Accessibility & Eligibility

Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility

This service does not have complementary paratransit because it is a curb-to-curb, demand response service, not fixed route. Most PEX buses and vans are lift-equipped and they all meet ADA requirements. Lift-equipped vehicles will be made available to those who need/request them.

Seniors 55 and older and persons with disabilities are eligible to pay a reduced/discounted fare for PEX rides. Contact PEX at 877-214-6073.

Transit Service Accessibility

This is an advanced reservation, door-to-door/curb-to-curb service. Lift or ramp equipped vehicles are available for persons with disabilities or mobility challenges who need them. PEX provides accessible transportation service that is also open to the general public.
