Accessibility & Eligibility
Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility
Deviated fixed route, or flexible route services are considered a form of demand response transportation by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Therefore, no complementary paratransit is available for this service. However, Niles deviated fixed stop vehicles will travel off the route to pick or drop off passengers who may have difficulty reaching or boarding at the route’s set stops. Additionally, Niles Dial-A-Ride demand response services are curb-to-curb services that are accessible to individuals with disabilities unable to access Route 2 fixed stops.
Reduced Fare is available for seniors (age 60 and older) and riders with disabilities with a Regional Reduced Fare Card (RRFC). Visit the RRFC application information.
Children 3-18 (with valid student ID where applicable) also ride at reduced rates. Children ages 2 and under ride free.
Transit Service Accessibility
The Route 2 deviated fixed stop vehicles are lift/ramp equipped and go door-to-door/curb-to-curb within a ½ mile from the fixed route, if needed.
