The COVID-19 Virus

The COVID-19 virus is affecting all parts of the Michigan community, including people with disabilities, their families, and people who support them. DRM is ready to be part of the community response.

DRM will continue to work to protect the rights of people with disabilities during the COVID-19 outbreak. Although the situation is changing quickly, people with disabilities still have the right to live, work, and access the community free of discrimination. This means that people have the right to be free from abuse or neglect, the right to request services and reasonable accommodations, the right to receive advance notice of changes in services, and the right to disagree by filing a complaint or an appeal.

If you think your rights are being violated, DRM can give you information, advice, and short-term assistance. Call us and leave a message with your name (including spelling), your phone number, and a brief description of why you are calling, during business hours at (800) 288-5923. You may also contact us any time through our confidential website portal, www.drmich.org. We will respond to you as soon as we can. Please be advised that we are not accepting walk-ins or visitors at any DRM office until further notice. Our staff are working remotely, and services will remain available and active to the extent possible until further precautions are necessary. Thank you for your understanding.
