Our client, a man who uses a wheelchair, lived in an apartment that was not accessible, even though his need for accessibility was well known. The landlord refused to make any accommodations that would make the unit accessible. DRM assisted the client in filing a complaint with the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. Through negotiation, the landlord finally agreed to make the necessary changes.
